Pam's Eagle

Oh my Gosh! This is absolutely adorable! And you would not believe how quick she makes these. Pam, is one of SLT's volunteers and has made all sorts of crocheted items for our friends; blankets, hats, and shawls. This one is her latest and soon may become our new mascot. THANKS Pam!

Sentiments for inside cards

Hi everyone!
One of our volunteers asked for ideas for the inside of cards. Here is one I have found so far. It is made on excel and the bottom row shows the categories you can click on. I will keep looking! They love any messages. I comment on their personal favorites or sometimes just tell them I am thinking and praying for them. If you have any ideas, post them here.

Fun use of eyelets

Okay everyone, now I am not a big fan of eyelets but when I was taught to make this one using the eyelets to pull ribbon through for the dragonfly, I thought it was very clever. Hope you like it!

April Showers

Hi everyone! Wow, did time get away from me or what? I never in a million years would have thought that it has been a month since I posted. That will not happen again. I took a short trip to Florida to help out with my granddaughter, went to Artiscape in Columbus, and who knows what else took the time. Anyway, here is a card I made at my Cuy Falls club; those ladies are awesome! TGIF!

Thanks Jodi!

Hi everyone!

Here is a card sent to one of our friends by our volunteer Jodi. It is ADORABLE! Remember, if you want your creations posted here, send them to me and I will add them.
If you have extra time and want to send an extra card, Sarah is having a difficult time with her platelets lately. She is such a cutie though, she still has a wonderful smile.
Also, sympathy cards to Cheyenne's family, I am sure would be appreciated for our newest angel.

Have a wonderful week and thanks for all you do for our SLT friends!

Family

Hi everyone! This week was up and down with Cheyenne having such a rough week. She made it to Disneyland for her birthday and had a great time. Speaking of great times, I spent the day with my sisters Barb, Linda and Jan along with my mom yesterday and boy did we have fun. Mom twisted our arm and made us go to Archivers (they know her by name)...LOL. Here is a card my mom made. She makes such wonderful cards! Be sure to count your blessings each and every day. I know I do, with my family being one of my biggest blessings!!

Sister Sue

Another week has flown by. I have so much to do in my craft room and so little time. Here is one of our sister Sue's cards. The photo really doesn't do it justice because it cannot show the 3-D effect her cards have. Each one is a FABULOUS creation! What you cannot even see is that on the inside she stamps sentiments on polymer clay and then colors them with chalks. I keep telling her she needs to submit some of them to Somerset Studio or any of the Stampington magazines for publication. Thanks Sis, for your inspiration and for all you do for SLT!

Blessed

I feel so blessed to be working with so many caring people. It is amazing the amount of donations we receive, cards we receive and volunteers' commitment to helping our brain cancer friends! Here is a card from Julie; she hand stitched the saying on this and other cards she sent for our SLT friends. THANKS for all you do for SLT!

Happy Day

Again, the time has flown by. I was so busy with our church marriage enrichment day I didn't post here for two weeks. Here is a card from one of our volunteers which is just adorable.

Remember to cherish your family and friends. I spent a WONDERFUL day with my family yesterday. My family is so important to me and I just couldn't imagine life without each and every one of them. I am so blessed to have such a wonderful family and such wonderful friends and I hope you have special people in each of your lives too.

Long distance hugs,

Time flies

It is amazing how time flies! It seems like just yesterday I posted to this blog and it has been over a week. Here is a card one of our volunteers made. Nancy is also in my Circle of Friends group and is a very special person! Thanks Nancy for sharing this with us! (She has several others too I will post soon!)

Another snow day

Hi everyone!
We have yet another snow day here in Ohio! Fun for teachers and students but traveling is ridiculous. Here is a cupcake card we made at club. It is really easy. Put the frosting part through a cuttlebug and then rub chalks over it. Put the bottom part through a crimper and it looks just like the cupcake wrapper. Hope you enjoy this one.

Birthday card

Hi everyone!
Here is a card I made using some of Alexstamping ideas, combined with Stampscapes. It is actually for my brother in law, not SLT but I thought I would post it because it could be used for all types of cards.
Enjoy your day!

Lauri C's card

Here is a card a volunteer sent for our friends. Before we send it out, I thought I would post a copy for inspiration. If any of you ever have any cards that you would like posted here for others to see, please email me a copy or send it to me and I will post before I mail.

Stay Warm

Today is another day off from school because of the temperatures. I hope all of you are staying warm. It is a good day to make cards and if you need inspiration I found this Flicker site which has all kinds of cards made with rubberstamps. You can look at the cards without joining...click on group pool....but to add your own cards, you need to join.

Enjoy!

Snow Day

Hi everyone!

Well teaching does have an extra perk in the winter time.....a snow day. Actually it is a cold day because our temperatures are so low here. So here is another site I found while surfing. It seems to have lots of good links.

One Powerful Hour Challenge

One of the ladies from my Circle of Friends group has a wonderful challenge site called One Powerful Hour, where you have one hour to create and clean up using a theme. This week's theme is birthdays and it happens to be her birthday, so here is my creation for her and her challenge. Happy Birthday Caroline; I hope you had a wonderful birthday!

January February assignments

Hi everyone, Here is the schedule for January 2009 AND February 2009. It seems to be working better doing two months at a time; please let us know if you have problems with this. PLEASE BE SUREYOU HAVE MY EMAIL ADDRESS IN YOUR ADDRESS BOOK SO IT DOESN’T BOUNCE MY EMAIL AS SPAM. I am sending this as TWO EMAILS; one is the news and the assignments and the second email is the addresses. Hope this helps. As you heard by now, we are sad to report we lost two friends; Ella H and Jon C earned their wings in November. Our thoughts and prayers go out to both families. We welcome new friends; Kole M, Brian E., and Peighton. We also welcome new volunteers; Lisa A., Margaret, Mildred, Kevin, Misty M, Danielle, Lori W., Ellen P, Margie R., Cheryl A, Shan Pals, and Leah A. Thank you so much for helping to bring smiles to our friends with brain cancer. If any of you belong to any card making groups, please tell them about us. SLTprefers to have handmade cards sent, but this is NOT a necessity. Some of our volunteers are purchasing cards to send which is just as wonderful. If your card making groups or clubs wish to make cards one month, they can send them to our P.O. Box. I hope the blog links have been helpful. I have not been posting a lot lately because it does not seem to be visited often. I will keep posting links for you to use for creative ideas for your cards. If you anything you want linked, please let me know through the site or through email. http://sendlovetoday.blogspot.com/ Also, we now have a store set up where anyone can purchase merchandise with Send Love Today’s logo and website. Check it out at http://www.cafepress.com/sendlovetoday

Birthdays for January and February. Friends (If you wish to send an extra card, we are sure they would enjoy the birthday wishes!) Please let me know if this schedule does NOT work for you or if you are unable to meet your commitment;remember someone is counting on you. (If ever you wish to change your commitment, either MORE (lol) or less per week, simply email me!!) You can send little surprises too if you wish. Be sure to sign the card with your name and also SEND LOVE TODAY. (You can sign your first, or first and last, whichever you are comfortable with). You are not required to update me every time you send a card but you certainly can if you have the time. ***There is a wonderful website called CaringBridge(http://www.caringbridge.org/) which has daily updates on some of our "friends". It is nice to see the faces behind the names we send cards too and keep updated on the struggles they are going through. You can always drop them a line on their websites too.
