Sparkle amidst the Snow!

A cool one!

The scan is hard to give this card the attention it deserves. One of our volunteers took pieces of yarn and wrapped them in this pattern on a stamped background...way cool....keep the ideas coming....I love to see what others do.

Sad news

I am saddened to report that John S. has earned his wings. He is a very special guy and will be missed by many, especially his lovely wife Elaine. The bright side is that he has left many people with fond memories to hold in their heart, and he is no longer has to deal with this horrible disease. His family is in our thoughts and prayers.

Clever ideas!

Our volunteer Loisirene has a very cute idea. She sends the cards to our friends from her dog Alexis. She sends a picture of her cute puppy to each friend she sends to and then signs the card Alexis. Here is a picture of Alexis with some of the supplies donated to SLT.

Another cute idea was from our volunteer Candice. She finds a joke from a kid joke book and then creates a card with the joke as the theme.

Volunteer Get Together

Hi Ladies! Sorry I have not posted in a while...I had an emergency appendenctomy and am still not fully recovered. This is the first time I was able to walk the stairs to get to update the blog. I sent out the invite for our volunteer get together on Sat Oct 16th to those in Ohio. If you are outside Ohio and wish to join us, let me know and I will include you too. This card is another wonderful card sent to us from our volunteer Jodi. What a clever idea!

Sad news

I am saddened to report that we lost a friend this week. Little Kole M. lost his battle and is now a special angel in Heaven. Please keep the family in your prayers.

I apologize for my lack of postings! I got busy with the opening of the new school year, and a family blog of pictures and neglected to post new cards. So here is one from Mamar K? (It is difficult to read the back of the card).

Sad news

Sorry for the length in time since my last post. Our dear sweet loving father passed away early in June and our time was used to spend as much time with him as possible. We were blessed with many stories, smiles, "I love you too" and holding of hands in his last weeks of life. I thought the doghouse card was appropriate, as many of you probably put me in the doghouse for not updating, but now you can see I had a good reason. My family always is my first priority! We will all miss my dad terribly but know he will be watching over us from Heaven, free from his pain.

Butterfly Kisses

This card was sent to us from another Cardmaker magazine subscriber. We cannot thank that magazine enough for all the generous card donations. So to all of you who volunteer your time to our SLT friends, I am sending Butterfly Kisses! In this hectic world, with people dealing with all sorts of situations, a card can surely bring lots of smiles!!

Some updates: Olivia received a clean MRI...YAHOO. Vinny made it through chemo and has forcasted that his tumor will be gone by his 7th birthday which is in October...he was right with his last prediction....and here is some inspiration for the new year!
