I am saddened to report that John S. has earned his wings. He is a very special guy and will be missed by many, especially his lovely wife Elaine. The bright side is that he has left many people with fond memories to hold in their heart, and he is no longer has to deal with this horrible disease. His family is in our thoughts and prayers.

Our volunteer Loisirene has a very cute idea. She sends the cards to our friends from her dog Alexis. She sends a picture of her cute puppy to each friend she sends to and then signs the card Alexis. Here is a picture of Alexis with some of the supplies donated to SLT.

Another cute idea was from our volunteer Candice. She finds a joke from a kid joke book and then creates a card with the joke as the theme.

Sorry for the length in time since my last post. Our dear sweet loving father passed away early in June and our time was used to spend as much time with him as possible. We were blessed with many stories, smiles, "I love you too" and holding of hands in his last weeks of life. I thought the doghouse card was appropriate, as many of you probably put me in the doghouse for not updating, but now you can see I had a good reason. My family always is my first priority! We will all miss my dad terribly but know he will be watching over us from Heaven, free from his pain.

Just an update. Maddie's mom switched her from Care Pages to Caring Bridge. Her new site is caringbridge.org/visit/madelinekojeszewski She also has changes to her profile. Maddie is now in 4th grade and no longer likes Disney princesses. She is very much into the Jonas Brothers and High School Musical now. She still likes everything else listed under her info. She has an MRI this Tuesday.

The photo is of an art doll that a new volunteer is making for our friends. Aren't they fabulous! She found us through and ad in Art Doll Quarterly and we are thrilled that she is volunteering to make one a month for us. Bayleigh was a first recipient of one and LOVED it! Thanks to all of you for all you do!

It is with a heavy heart that I must tell you that we lost another friend today. John Williams, our SLT cowboy, earned his wings today. His strong faith and love for everyone is an inspiration to all of us. He followed Stacy's Never Give Up motto right to the very end and he will be deeply missed by all of us!

If you recently were assigned to send cards to him, I will be reassigning you someone this weekend.

Here is a fun idea. It is a card I made at Inky Antics booth at a stamping show. If you haven't heard of this company, you should go check it out. They have fabulous stamps and ideas! Anyway, this one is made with a lunch bag and opens up with a message, but also a slot if you want to include a gift card or extra surprise note. Sorry I scanned it in wrong. Have fun with it; the possibilities are endless! I have even made with white, red, or blue lunchbags which I find at Target.

Hi everyone! This week was up and down with Cheyenne having such a rough week. She made it to Disneyland for her birthday and had a great time. Speaking of great times, I spent the day with my sisters Barb, Linda and Jan along with my mom yesterday and boy did we have fun. Mom twisted our arm and made us go to Archivers (they know her by name)...LOL. Here is a card my mom made. She makes such wonderful cards! Be sure to count your blessings each and every day. Another week has flown by. I have so much to do in my craft room and so little time. Here is one of our sister Sue's cards. The photo really doesn't do it justice because it cannot show the 3-D effect her cards have. Each one is a FABULOUS creation! What you cannot even see is that on the inside she stamps sentiments on polymer clay and then colors them with chalks. I keep telling her she needs to submit some of them to Somerset Studio or any of the Stampington magazines for publication. Thanks Sis, for your inspiration and for all you do for SLT!

I feel so blessed to be working with so many caring people. It is amazing the amount of donations we receive, cards we receive and volunteers' commitment to helping our brain cancer friends! Again, the time has flown by. I was so busy with our church marriage enrichment day I didn't post here for two weeks. Here is a card from one of our volunteers which is just adorable.

Remember to cherish your family and friends. I spent a WONDERFUL day with my family yesterday. My family is so important to me and I just couldn't imagine life without each and every one of them. I am so blessed to have such a wonderful family and such wonderful friends and I hope you have special people in each of your lives too.

Time flies

It is amazing how time flies! It seems like just yesterday I posted to this blog and it has been over a week. Here is a card one of our volunteers made. Nancy is also in my Circle of Friends group and is a very special person! Thanks Nancy for sharing this with us! (She has several others too I will post soon!)

Another snow day

Hi everyone!
We have yet another snow day here in Ohio! Fun for teachers and students but traveling is ridiculous. Here is a cupcake card we made at club. It is really easy. Put the frosting part through a cuttlebug and then rub chalks over it. Put the bottom part through a crimper and it looks just like the cupcake wrapper. Hope you enjoy this one.

Today is another day off from school because of the temperatures. I hope all of you are staying warm. It is a good day to make cards and if you need inspiration I found this Flicker site which has all kinds of cards made with rubberstamps. You can look at the cards without joining...click on group pool....but to add your own cards, you need to join.

One of the ladies from my Circle of Friends group has a wonderful challenge site called One Powerful Hour, where you have one hour to create and clean up using a theme.
